STI-engined Beetle
The Volkswagen Beetle, as we all know, has a rear-mounted flat-four. So what else has a four-pot boxer? Well, the Subaru Impreza for a start... so you'd think that the one would naturally lend it's motor to the other, yes? You'd be right.

Street-legal bumper cars
The picture speaks for itself really - a simple(ish) and effective way of putting a smile on the faces of all your fellow motorists.

Hammond crashes again...
It's not exactly stuffing a jet-car at 288mph, but Richard Hammond's managed to plough his uber-rare Morgan Aeromax into three other cars just outside Gloucester. He's fine. His wife and kids weren't involved. Bit of a non-story really, sorry. Great shame about the Morgan though - it'll be a bugger to source those Lancia rear lights...

Formula Drift - Las Vegas
A beautifully-compiled set of highlights of Formula Drift Las Vegas, courtesy of Joshua Herron. (Via Will Roegge.)

...and here's Will Roegge's own edit. The juxtaposition of frantic action and relaxed soundtrack is inspired. (Again, fullscreen is best.)

V8 Matiz
I feel a bit dirty. I never thought it'd be possible to look lustfully at a Daewoo Matiz. OK, it does have a 7.0-litre V8 from a Corvette Z06 - the 550bhp enabling it to hit 60mph in 3.7 seconds - but still... there's a yawning chasm between 'you can' and 'you should'.

Renault 8 Gordini: slippery
Just a quickie - some lovely old 'how-to-handle-a-swing-axle' footage.
I'd love an 8 Gordini. Effortlessly cool.

'Become indecently rich'
As a promotional tool for the Belgian national lottery (slogan: 'become indecently rich'), this oddly Barried-up Rolls Royce Silver Cloud is certainly effective. Whether or not its creators can sleep at night knowing what they've done is quite another matter...

Goodwood Breakfast Club - Soft-Top Sunday
The sun was out on Sunday, so we threw down the roof on the MX-5 and popped down to Goodwood for the Breakfast Club. If you get an opportunity to go, do - great atmosphere, superb selection of cars, and it's free! A lovely way to pass the morning.
