The star of the show was the 1937 BMW 328 MM ‘Buegelfalte’. Chassis no. 85032 competed at Le Mans and the 1937 Tourist Trophy, and took a class win in the 1938 Mille Miglia.
Designed by Wilhelm Kaiser, the name ‘Buegelfalte’ translates as 'trouser crease', after the distinctive lines running along the top of the wings. You can see that the car is handmade by the fact that the headlights and kidney grills are at endearingly different heights on either side.
The price of this beautiful, historic machine? £3,800,000.
