Patinated '66 Beetle
Patina is something that it's increasingly fashionable to force - strip your paint off with Nitromors, urinate on the panel and voila, an instant weathered appearance. But natural patina is far more honest; see this '66 Beetle as evidence. A spot of rust here, a strip of duct tape there - it wears its years with pride. And, arguably, it looks all the better for it, don't you think? The fact that it hasn't been fastidiously kept pristine doesn't by any means imply that it's unloved; more that it's useful and relied upon. It looks like it's part of the family.
