A shimmering vision in turquoise, this mkII Golf offers something slightly unusual under the bonnet. When you hear of a 1.8 turbo conversion, it's natural to assume that such a car might contain the transplanted heart of a mkIV Golf Turbo... but no, this Golf rocks the original 1.8 GTI engine with a homebrew turbo conversion plumbed in. And that's a properly old-school approach. All it needs is a fat set of Azev As and a DTM wiper/exhaust combo and it could have been plucked straight from the nineties.
